The football season is still months away, but when has that ever stopped people from putting money on it? 5Dimes, a European based sportsbook, has already released it’s college football over/under win totals for the 2015 season. The betting line for the Orange is 4.5 wins.
That seems a bit low, doesn’t it? Looking at Syracuse’s schedule, only winning four games would be a major disappointment. This is a team that’s supposed to be going to bowl games. Of course, there’s plenty of reasons you could point to as to why the projection was this low. The quaterback position is still a question mark, both of the Orange’s top running backs graduated, and if last year told us anything at all it was that this team can underachieve with the best of them.
But the 2014 Orange was plagued by injury and switching quarterbacks every other game. If Terrel Hunt hadn’t been injured and gotten the offense into some kind of groove, Syracuse could’ve easily won a couple more games. Assuming Syracuse doesn’t blow one of their easy non-conference games, 5Dimes is basically having you bet on whether or not the Orange will win more than one game in the ACC. Syracuse isn’t the worst team in this conference, and I think this team proves it this season.
I’m not a betting man, but if I were I’d take the over on this one.

Is it 4 games or is it 5 games this season? Please explain how they got the 4.5 number. I hope Shafer and crew shows the betting world what’s in store for them over the next few years by exceeding the 4.5 number.

4.5 is a betting line, its not saying they are going to win 4.5 games but you either have to bet they will win less then 4.5 which means four or less wins or more the 4.5 games which means win 5 or more games.

The 2015 edition of CUSE needs to be a phoenix rising from the ashes of last year’s dumpster fire. TODAY it’s not expected to do anything(by most) as indicated by the 4.5 over/under in games won. Hunt has not proven himself to be an above average D1 qb. We lost the majority of our defense and have a new offensive coordinator and his offense to learn/execute. Both lines are going to be revamped come the season opener.
But I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN………. 6 games and make a bowl game this year.
