Dontae Strickland continued his phenomenal senior year Friday night scoring a 50-yard rushing touchdown as well as an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown. South Brunswick (NJ) beat East Brunswick (NJ) 40-9 in the game. In just four games this season the running back has already rushed for 629 yards and scored ten touchdowns. Strickland averages over 200 all-purpose yards per game for South Brunswick.
Also in New Jersey, cornerback Daivon Ellison’s¬†top-ranked Don Bosco team lost its first game of the season to Paramus Catholic (NJ) 21-14 on Saturday. Ellison and the rest of Bosco‚Äôs secondary was able to keep Catholic‚Äôs receiving corps quiet for three quarters but allowed the game winning 20-yard touchdown pass midway through the fourth.
Receiver West Lindor did not catch a touchdown pass for Affton (MO) this week but still managed to get into the end zone Friday night. In the third quarter of Affton’s 48-12 victory over Maplewood (MO), Lindor recovered a teammates’ fumble and ran it into the end zone making the score 48-6. Affton is now 4-0 on the year.
In Ohio, linebacker Troy Henderson Jr.’s St. Edward Prep shut out Canada Prep Academy (yes they’re from Canada) 42-0 Saturday. Henderson Jr.’s defense allowed just 129 total yards against the team from Ontario.
Two North Carolina 2016 running backs visited Syracuse this weekend. Moe Neal, a three-star recruit, and Robert Washington, a four-star recruit, visited campus together. Neal tweeted a picture of himself and Washington at the Dome saying that the pair looked, “fly in that Orange.” Both players have extensive offer sheets.
Two defensive backs also from North Carolina visited SU this weekend as well. 2017 cornerback Aapri Washington already has a scholarship offer from SU, but 2016 corner Will Eason does not.

hopefully we can stock up on some rb’s for the future.
I was told that there were 19 football recruits at the game on Saturday for the 2016 and 2017 classes. I guess it doesn’t hurt to get in on this kids early.
The rb is def a position to look out for, namely the types of rb SU starts recruiting going forward. Considering the offense and recent targets, I wonder if the big power back types are a thing of the past for SU. I think they are going to go for the speedy all purpose types(maybe the 5’10-190 type guys who can be gamebreakers). ’15 recruit rb Tyrone Perkins is hurt while Jordan Fredericks and Dontae Strickland are thankfully healthy in their last yrs of HS. Out of the 3, Perkins seemed like he had the kind of frame and style that would be closest to a Jerome Smith type guy(he’s only 190 but about 6’0 and appears to have a frame that can easily add substantial mass). I want to continue to bring in backs with the agility and skill of Erv Phillips, but I definitely want a sledgehammer back or two to pair with them. I haven’t looked at the 2016 guys the article mentioned, but maybe they are closer to that north-south style.
