With Syracuse fans eagerly awaiting word on whether the 6-6 Orange will end up playing somewhere for the bowl season, it’s interesting to note that Yahoo! Sports believes SU will be heading to the Tampa Bay area. The website has the Orange playing in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl in St. Pete against FAU two days before Christmas.
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St Petersburg
St Petersburg, Fla. – Dec. 23
C-USA No. 4 vs. AAC No. 6Florida Atlantic vs. Syracuse*
A * denotes a team filling in for another conference that couldn’t fulfill all of its postseason obligations.
Any postseason game would be an important end to a trying season for the Orange. And certainly heading to the Tampa area where there’s plenty of SU alumni would be a solid opportunity. Florida is also recruiting turf for SU, especially now that the program needs to up its talent pool in the ACC, and is playing in the state basically every year between FSU and Miami.
The game is played on ESPN, in a nice Monday evening window. Tampa provides sunny temperatures and beaches in December for fans that want to travel. And ironically would be a chance to stick it to the old Big East again by taking an AAC slot.
USF, Rutgers and Louisville have all won the game before.

that would be perfect..
Beggers can’t be choosers!
I’d love the Beef! A warm location ‚Ķ.rich recruiting area with Alum‚Ķand a team we would beat‚Ķ..all in a good time slot.
Nice little drive from Jax. FL, count me in!
It’s being reported that ND has accepted a bid to play in the Pinstripe Bowl. It was rreported this morning on channel 9 that Boston College also accepted a bid to the Pinstripe Bowl. Should make for an interesting game.
TV channel 9 reporting Boston College to the Pinstripe Bowl vs ND might have been “wishful thinking of the reporters who was reporting the story.
The ACC does not have tie-ins with the Pinstripe Bowl this year. ESPN is predicting either Rutgers or Houston to play ND this year in the Bronx.
Well Carlton,Alabama lost and FSU jumped into 1st place as predicted. Played and destroyed Duke in the ACC Championship game and now will be playing for the national championship against Auburn.
You must be pretty damn proud of your team right about now. Congratulations goes to you and the football team. Oh and I almost forgot,FSU’s Jamis Winston recieves the Heismen Trophy.
Let’s see here undefeated season,ACC Champions,Heismen Trophy winner,National Champions makes for one hell-of-a season.
Carlton,the only remaining questions that needs to be asked are,does Jamis Winston stay another year or does he go to the NFL next year?
Yep going to Pasadena! Playing Auburn and I’m happy /w that. I wanted an SEC team so their was no questioning of the win. I think FSU handles Auburn by 14+.
Winston probably leaves after next yr. If he wins a NC and the heisman not really much left to accomplish at the NCAA level to stay another yr but he’s gotta wait 1 more yr. It be kinda like Manziel this yr. What really left for him to do? It also sucks bc ya can’t go to regular classes and can’t even walk around campus, so the college experience is really over anyway.
Winston looked shaky to me against Duke?? I think as good as he is he needs 2 more yrs unless guaranteed 1st Rd next yr which might happen with the great Ol FSU has been developing! That’s where Im really impressed and makes young throwers look better/advanced than they really are! Josue Matias OL from N.Bergen,NJ is really good!!Damn Ron,I think RU is keeping KF for another yr? I was looking to grab a few of his recruits?
@Russell Dangerfield;
If he’s as good as you say he is Russell,then I’m glad he’s not losing his job right away. But is there a chance Rutgers waits until after the bowl game before making a move? You and I have discussed the possibility of getting a few good recruits in that was going to surprise us this year. I don’t know if it’s just me,but I have a feeling from what I’ve been reading that what you and I have discussed in the past just might come true this year.
@Terry;
This message is just for you. As promised I said that when things started to happen concerning the new IPF building I would let everyone know. Last week I posted that heavy equipment was getting moved onto the construction site. Well I’m happy to let you and everyone else know the ground work has started also. They’ve rolled up the carpet,must be their going to vuse it in the new building. Digging footers for the frame work should start this week I would imagine.
