Yeah, the game was a slog for about two hours. Unquestionably, the Texas Bowl isn’t quite the prestige of many other games. Syracuse doesn’t recruit much in the Lone Star State anyway. No matter, the benefits of a bowl win far outweigh the negatives.
It wasn’t that long ago Orange football was locked in a vicious cycle of 3-4 win seasons, led by one of the worst coaches in football history, Groobers. The program was dead, a punch line across America. Recruits stayed away. Fans did as well. People openly rooted against the team so that the coach would be canned.
Five years later, Syracuse might not be a top 25 team, but it has established some football credibility. There’s three bowl wins in four years. All of them came against BCS programs (Kansas State, West Virginia and Minnesota). That’s three nationally televised windows of success in notable stadiums (Yankee Stadium, Reliant Stadium). Better facilities are hopefully on the way. The new staff has already won some important recruiting battles.
You have to crawl before you can walk, and sometimes we (including myself) can forget that during the daily melee that are Saturdays and recruiting. Doug Marrone leaving, much of the staff departing with him, and Ryan Nassib graduating threw a monkey wrench into the continued arc of development this program was undergoing. Scott Shafer at times this year was obviously inexperienced. Terrel Hunt at times looked in over his head. George McDonald at times appeared completely under-qualified for play-calling. But when the dust settled on the ’13 season, you feel much better about the state of all three positions for ’14.
Compared to where we sat a little less than a year ago – a staff leaving, no quarterback, recruiting class dissolving – this is very positive end to the year. Another bowl win. A much better conference. Another step forward in football credibility.

Not a bad article, but I see where your coming from TNT.
I think we need articles like this to remind the fans that we are making small gains in football. I for one was done watching ‘Cuse football this year after the disappointing loss to PITT. Didn’t watch the BC game, but watched last night. And I was glad I did.
‘Cuse football needs to start at the coaching positions before it can build outward and grow into a once national contending team. I feel that Shafer is the man and he has surrounded himself with some good coaches. Just like our basketball team it starts at the top and the players will come.
‘Cuse needs to have a good off season and bring in some more talented recruits. They need to find an identity on offense, which they seemed to show glimpses of the past few games. Special teams needs to desperately improve as well.
Next year I feel will be a big year due to the schedule. ‘Cuse has a chance to win 8-10 games which could be a good catapult to future seasons. They could be 3-0 going into the ND game. Home against Duke, L’ville and NC State (FSU as well but that will most likely be a loss).
I agree it takes time, money and a lot of effort to build a program. IMO with Shafer and his new coaching crew we are underway. The current recruiting class is shaping up nicely and some areas of weakness need to be discovered and addressed:
1. Too many penalties
2. Poor secondary
3. Kicking. Besides the missed Pat & 3 pnt attempts missed, the kickoffs never reach the end zone, thus starting opponents on the 30-40 yard line. Not good.

4)prince Tyson gulley won’t be missed
5)jarrod west didn’t have near the year he should have
6)after talking to Sean hickey before the Texas bowl at an alumni lunch there is no way he is staying

as far as this year goes i think it was better than expected. syracuse stepped up to the plate and had a good year all things considered. as we move ahead i like the recruits coming in and feel our offense will perform better next season. with the indoor practice facility being on its way i really can see syracuse making its way back. i beleive in our coaches and our kids.
@Humphries and Cuse don’t luse:
-Secondary was awful, but Lyn and Eskridge didn’t play due to injury. So things could have been a bit different.
-PTG will be back next year. Think he was cleared for a redshirt.
-Hickey could be a big loss if he declares.
-Hunt will be much better with better understanding of the offense, checks at the line and better WR’s.
-West was invisible for a lot of times this year, but it wasn’t like he had Nassib tossing him the ball.
-If Hunt can carry his play in to next year I agree he is our guy, but you have to like the QB’s that will be playing behind them. Good competition this off season.
-Special teams has always been a bit of our Achilles heel the past few seasons. Krautman will be back next year. I do like Dixon as our punter.
-I’m excited to see what WR’s come out next year.
-Excited to see Estime and Broyld develop, along with GMIII and Mcfarlene @ RB.
-penalties HAVE to be worked on and fixed next year. That I feel is on the coaches to work on.

JH…I’m guessing here. But it looked like Broyld had some sort of shoulder injury and Shafer was concerned he would 1) further injure the shoulder and 2) could be a fumble liability.
Broyld had made the claim earlier about the Gopher’s secondary being poor in tackling. NOW that same secondary just knocked him out of the game and his “pride” was hurt more than his shoulder…
Again, this is conjecture on my part.

He got hurt when tackled,got up ran to the left side of the line and wanted to stay in the game for the next play. he waived off the replacement and told him to gert off of the field. Shafer called a time out and when the team came to the side line he told Boyld that he wasn’t going back into the game. boyld got upset and I guess started mouthing off to Shafer and shafewr went to him and let him know who the boss was of the team. Boyld didn’t play the rest of the game because of his antics/charade on the side line.
What a weekend to remember. Sitting on top of the world now if your an Orange fan and a member of the Orangenation.
Ron-Hunt still is not a quality Div. 1 QB. FINALLY the announcers mentioned a couple times his technique is poor for down the field long throws!! He got the MVP because he lumbered in for a couple of TD’s. It surely wasn’t for his passing!! He is a line drive passer with no touch as of now!!
Mr. Smith or Hickey showed no real greatness lately either so let them go. Hickey killed 2 drives with penalties. Neither of them are Jones-like in abilities!!
Reddish is a JOKE!!!!! Maybe if you throw Rene in there to it shows that NYC/LI are not that hot for HS talent after all.

Did you notice HCSS went out twice on the field to comfort injured players?? you don’t see that very much!! But I love this guy. And at the same time the “bet” mention statement (although the frigging media caught it)should of not happened. HCSS still makes mistakes on coaching, but the team responds to him and that’s all that matters!! And please HCSS play your best freshmen next year. You saw what happened. Estime should have part of that MVP award. I’m convinced HUNT would of blown the game(he did the series before=intentional grounding)if he had to go 60/70 yards for a win. The FRESHMAN made HUNT look at lot better. DIDN’T HE!!!

I don’t see a lot of pickup in recruits this year. If SU wins 7/8 games next year probably that will happen then. But SU is in the 60’s in ranking now and no way of getting to the low 50’s or better yet high 40’s this year. I picked 6-6 this year!! A decent rebuild year for the old CUSE huh RON!!

I think we were picked next to last in the division and ended up 3rd with a bowl win over Big 10 team, I will call that a major success with all the changes. This team will crack top 25 next year!
Terry – Respectfully disagree with you on a couple comments.
1) Hunt is a D1 QB. He is a sophomore and has work to put in. Def heard the commentators say that Hunt “pushes” a few of his throws which can sail, but that can be fixed. I mean look what Tebow did with his poor mechanics. However he was 19-29. That’s not bad at all. He managed the past few games great. If he has to run, I have no problem with him running and gaining 70 ypg. Let’s see how he comes out and plays next year before we judge harshly.
2) Estime made a huge return that was the game changer and def helped Hunt score, but Hunt still has to put it in the endzone and on 3rd and 8 with a blitz, he did just that. Now Estime also had a fumble and let a perfect pass from Hunt hit him in the face mask, that would have been a TD, early on.
3) Marrone inherited a losing team w/ GROB players, then kicked off 20+ players. Shafer inherited players he had coached in previous years. Players that know his system and that supported him and didn’t leave the program.
4) Reddish didn’t play well and got burnt, but Wilkes didn’t help him when he dd get burnt for the TD due to what seemed some miscommunication. Reddish has another year and hopefully can improve some more.
5) Let’s not hate on our home state recruits. Yeah NYC/LI haven’t really shown us star type players (except Jay Brom), but they have helped us win games and bowls.
6) Who cares about the recruiting rankings and where we finish. As long as we continue to get some more recruits that fill some holes, that’s all that matters. We will get more studs in years to come. The coaching staff has to get an identity and have a good 2014 season, which can happen with their schedule.
Where I will agree with you is on the PSU situation with their head coach. Could be very interesting on what happens to some recruits if O’Brien leaves.

I know that after the performance Terrell gave on Friday and winning the MVP,that I am going to get some people angry. I just don’t see him winning the starting job as QB for the orange next year.
OC27 look HUNT missed the long throws miserably and has had no real improvement at all during the year at all. Finally it took an announcer to say his passing is not effective over 30 yards!! Yes he runs the ball well enough, but I’d rather have a QB who can throw that long lob than a runner any day. He isn’t no RJ3-either!! Teams will eventually stop his running. Plus he waves the ball around to much also!! A Div. 1 QB must have that long soft pass over 40/50 yards for a program to grow. If he doesn’t have it by now he’ll better have a god-like QB coach to change his technique!! As for Tebow he was a runner and his passing is better than HUNTS, but in the long run where is Tebow today. Please Estime’s return was huge!!!!!! When was the last 70 yard punt return for SU??? Another major fault with HUNT is the mental pressure he has a hard time dealing with-intentional grounding the series before the score-shows that!! I and many felt he is no Nassib when it comes to 80 yard winning drives!! Big boy NCAA DIV 1 football is pressure packed and I feel for players at times when the pressure is showing. But HUNT just lacks that pressure packed 50 yard bomb in the right situations!! So give Estime huge factor for this win!! HCSS also inherited a team that mentally was stabbed in the back by its long gone coach and its record was not all that great either!! HCSS has to find a way to improve HUNTS long passing or another 6-6 season is coming at best!! dougie admirers still amaze me??? He really did nothing for SU except a .500 record for 4 years. Thank god for calls going SU’s way(Toledo/KSU) or your man dougie would have a losing record for his career at SU!!! That’s what GROB had!!
As for recruiting ranking they are pretty on. For the last 10 years it shows with SU. They were rated in 60/70’s and really their record is just over .500 during that time. Only fans who don’t understand the recruiting system bitch about the ranking system!! I’ll take Alabama’s 2014 class any day over SU’s class and imagine what HCSS could do with them. Only a fool wouldn’t take that hand!! But this years class could be better than any dougie class too. Win and get the facilities better and SU will get into the 30/40’s on ranking and I bet you the .500 near no bowl feeling will be long gone!!

Any immediate benefits from the Texas win must be seen soon in recruiting.About a month to go for this recruiting cycle to finish up or down. I would not put any money on Hunt starting next year.A lot of competition coming in this summer. I think Edouard does become the “face of the program”.
Good article on Syracuse.com regarding next years teams, this morning. Discussed a lot of what you have been saying about Hunt’s deep ball, which I do agree with you on. And no I’m not comparing Hunt/Tebow, I’m just saying that at the college level you can get away with some poor throwing mechanics, especially if your winning. Tebow was a great college QB, doesn’t matter what he did after because we are only talking about college.
Hunt can easily fix that “pushing” motion in the off seasons.
Now my argument to Hunt is that this year he was a “game manager” type QB. And that was more because of the play calling which I thought was very suspect all year long. Lot of screen passes
Now lets compare Hunt to Nassib’s sophomore year. Hunt went 7-4 with a first year OC. Nassib went 8-5, with two wins coming against Maine/Colgate and was playing for an offensive minded coach, but played under second year OC. Now if you look at Nassib’s game statistics that year, they weren’t outstanding. He managed those games, like Hunt did this year.
All Im saying is pump the brakes a bit on going off on Hunt, he did the best job he could, with what he had. He took them to a bowl and winning season. You don’t need Peyton Manning stats to win games in college. Even though it would be nice. We were spoiled with Nassib last year.
Terry – As far as recruiting goes, we will never get Alabama’s recruiting classes. In a perfect world yes it would be great to get their recruiting class this year, but it will never happen.
And lets not forget, you may get the number 1 recruiting classes each year, but that guarantee’s you nothing. Players need to play in the right system and develop and elude injuries.
I always say its the coaching staff’s. Look at Boise St. and TCU’s of years past not getting the blue chip prospects, but the coach’s making a system that would make them compete with elite teams.

Terrel Hunt did a great job filling in this year for Allen who can throw the 50 yard ball and going to my dads alumni lunch thing you can tell he has won the team over. he is the cool kid at lunch that everyone wants to come tell jokes and make him laugh. Like it or not he IS the teams alpha male and leader and I know he made you want to beat your head in against Clemson but he has shown some progression I hope there qb competition let the best man win (unlike this years Allen debacle)
Estime is the man and has been Broyld was the best reciever before his injuries took tolls but it is clear Estime has a bright future

OC27-I’m just telling you that class ranking tells a lot about some kind of success. Alabama gets high ranks(usually top 5 every year recently) because the best talent want to play for winners-DUH!! SU being in the other world of poor years of play gets rated in the 60/70’s!! Rated 67 now!! In the last 10 years whose football program gets mentioned all the time on ESPN/ESPNU. And who never gets mentioned on ESPN/ESPNU because their classes are rated in the 60/70’s!! Any one knows that these recruiting sites know a hell of a lot more that the average homer fan does.

Well the game played out just as I thought. I guess Terry guys like you and I don’t know what the hell we’re talking about and when we tell them about what’s going on they treat guys like us as fools.
But I will say it again,I really don’t see Terrell as the QB next. If I were a betting man I’d put money on Austin Wilson winning the battle for starting QB in 2014.

Terry – I seem a bit confused by your posts. What stupidity are you discussing with me? As a ‘Cuse fan I seem to bring up some valid points, opinions and haven’t been disrespectful of your thoughts.
I think there is some miscommunication regarding your last post and what I have been saying. Blue chips do want to play for the best, I agree. They want to play for teams with more exposure and can help them get to the NFL. However look at Kentucky this year. They have been ranked 20 or higher in recruiting this year. Kentucky Football!! Awful team in the SEC and haven’t been to a bowl since 2010 (haven’t won one since 2008), however they are doing something to sell their program to top tier recruits. That doesn’t mean they are going to be a top 25 team though.
I like using Boise St. as an example of a team that doesn’t get high rated recruits, but still plays competitively against top 25 teams every year and plays in bowls, especially BCS bowls. Sorry for being repetitive.
The year Boise St. beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl (2007) I looked at where they were ranked in team rankings for recruiting in previous years (using Scout):
2003: 73
2004: 72
2005: 73
2006: 78
Those years were the players that were part of that 2007 fiesta bowl team.
My point is (that I think your missing)that you don’t need top tier recruits every year to be a contender. You need good coaches who can develop these players and utilize a 2-3 stars strengths to help win. You need these players to buy into your system, work hard, not get injured and be a little lucky.
Let me use Collin Klein as an example. 2 star recruit who helped lead K-Stat to the Fiesta Bowl last year. He wasn’t a great passer, but his running ability was perfect for their system.
Texas, Michigan and Florida had the top recruiting classes in 2012. Look how well they played this year. No BCS bids.
Tennessee is usually 10-15 in recruiting but they are irrelevant.
Alabama is elite every year because on top of good recruiting they have probably one of the top coaching staffs in the nation, great facilities, great conference, warm weather, great/psychotic fan base and players that go to the NFL, like Kentucky hoops sends freshman to the NBA.
And Terry if your calling me stupid, just don’t man. We both are on the same playing field rooting for the same team. You have your opinions as do I. we are both passionate fans. And I stated my reasoning with some solid facts.
OC27 I’m not calling anyone stupid!! Just stupid thoughts about the facts. Boise St-HA!! One team of over 120(Div 1 teams) is not a great example of knocking the rating systems. Their year was below average this year. Coaching played a role there in past years winning!! SU would take all of the mentioned teams you mentioned above. I can see it now HCSS or even dougie or GROB or even Coach P saying “no way we want those top 25 or top 15 or top 10 or top 5 recruiting classes and all their winning ways”. Instead you’d think they would say, “give us plenty of NR/2 star talent and SU will take a 60/70 rated class any day over the above mentioned teams!! SU will be satisfied with a great year of 6-6 or 7-5 or 5-7!! Now that’s stupid. The recruiting sites are not always right but their record is a hell of lot better than most homer insight!! I know that SU now, will rarely get solid 4 star or better players=NOW. But sprinkle in 2/3 4 star players a year and lets see what happens. You seem to build up the 2 star player for SU. IT JUST WON’T WORK!! And NEVER will!! Winning is about REAL talent not one 2 star player on SU or other teams. This years class is rated in the middle 60’s that’s below average for rebuilding and deep down most homers know that but refuse to admit it. Sorry the facts show that’s just damn stupid!!

Terry – You just made absolutely no sense to what I just said. I just gave you an example of a team ranked in the 70’s for 4 previous years in recruiting, that went to a BCS bowl. That’s my point, REGARDLESS OF THE TALENT THAT YOU RECRUIT, YOU NEED GOOD COACHES TO CREATE A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS YOUR TEAM A CHANCE TO WIN.

Syracuse just can’t sprinkle in 4/5 star recruits every year, at least not until they are winning or can sell the program, like we all hope this staff can. Marrone was starting to before he left. Even when we do that guarantees us nothing (example Averin Collier).
Would love to see ‘Cuse in the top 40 in recruiting each year, but I rather have a coaching staff that can win with the players it brings in.

4 and 5 star New York guys think they have already made it,4 and 5 star guys from football states realize they have to keep working harder or they will be overtaken by a hungry, hardworking 2 or 3 star up and comer.
Appreciate the feedback. Love the thread on this post. Good stuff. I just think it’s important to remember where this program was not too long ago. No one gets too fired up about a Texas Bowl win… but its def. a positive. And recruiting can only be helped by this, certainly not hurt. And I think it’ll show up next month on NSD.
OC27, you make a ton of sense, so don’t worry that your opinion is getting lost, it isn’t. I think the minute details where you and Terry are not clicking on are mostly semantics. I don’t think OC27 is saying he prefers lower ranked classes, just that he feels the ability to coach is more important as that can help overcome lower ranked recruiting classes. He effectively used Boise St. as an example (or conversly Tennessee). I have stated before that the draw of the SEC will help recruiting, no matter how bad the team (UT Vandy, or UK). Heck Ole’Miss and Miss. St. have been on the cusp of enormous seasons based on recruiting, but the coaching wasn’t up to it (see Ed Orgeron).
To assume that Cuse is intentionally not recruiting 4-5 stars in favor of 2-3 stars is silly. In addition, and this is an interesting point (and why many ignore recruiting rankings) is that most of the rankings are affected by subscriptions. Good news and hope breed subscriptions. Teams that have more subscriptions get a bump in the ratings of their verbal commits. A high 3 can become a low 4 just because of the subscription base of the team he verbals to. Our same class at another school could be a mid 50’s class. Another factor is the amount of commits. A class of 25 will almost always out rank a class of 15. Since we have fewer verbals than most at this point, we will have a lower ranked class. Combined with the subscription factor, our full class on NLI day (it is thought that we will take the max of 25 again) may improve if they are mostly 3 stars and some 4 stars mixed in. If that class was at Kentucky or UT or another high subscription school, it would likly go even higher even though its the same kids. So if our full class gets to 50, its not unrealistic to assume they would be 40 at another school.
Everyone wants highly rated recruiting classes, but its not something you can just complain is missing and then get it. I think this incoming class will be historic, if not on signing day, then 4-5 years from now. They will reshape the perception of our program.
Guy’s all anyone has to do is look at the current state of recruiting at Syracuse University. We’re going after some top recruits for the class of 2015 and we’re not for the class of 2014 yet. Malone made a statement thinking we were going to max out at 25 recruits,personally I think it’s going to be a few more,based solely on the players that have decided to go pro and the players that’s transferring out to other team.
I think both OC27 and Terry are making some good points and basically are saying the same thing.
This past weekend was one of the best that I’ve ever seen at Syracuse. I hope that we keep the football talk going over the winter. It’s getting interesting folks and the best is yet to come. I honestly feel that we’re going to get some more good recruits and you know I think we’re going to get a few 4* athletes.
Top talent makes programs grow!! I’m tired of the homers refusing to see the light of only winning 6 or 7 games a year and being satisfied with that year after year. Its easier to fall down with lesser talent that jump up with lesser talent. You don’t have progress with that and HCSS and his staff know that. Classes in the 70/60’s will never move SU up the charts. But homers(I won’t mention any names-lol) still hope and pray with lesser talent. For the 100th time the last 10 years at SU has shown that!! But the homers still get on their knees and pray for salvation with lesser talent. IT WON’T HAPPEN!! Just check the last 10/12 yrs at SU!!

And Good talent get good winning!! I don’t see prima donnas here. I see SU with Colgate/Wagner/StonyBrook type of program with your NR2 star heart felt kids. I’m tired of those teams and the fans are too The 1/2 empty Dome shows that. Homers are satisfied with the heart felt lesser talented teams of the past 10/12 years. HCSS has this program on a slight rise and only better talent will help that rise come steeper!! But this PAABUSERU move for Schiano is only going hurt SU in the long run. But hell some think a low rated class with heart and want to be here will beat the ACC regularly are drunk!! But they are my team and I’ll follow them until they light the switch to cremate me. But I will not let it go by when they(program) or fans are off base. And winning with lesser talent is off base. SU can do and has to better to improve. The facts back me up!!

I’d have to pretty much echo OC27 and the always sensible Malone. At this particular point in time, fans like Terry have to realistically evaluate where Syracuse is as a program. Then adjust your expectations accordingly. YES, we all want Orange football to be able to go and pluck up the high 4 and 5 star guys year after year. However, the program can’t do that right now. It doesn’t have the cache or geographic advantages that some programs have.
Therefore, coaches like Doug Marrone and currently Scott Shafer had to tailor their approach to the programs they worked for. Marrone was a NYC cat from the boogie down BX inheriting a losing joke of a program. He felt like he had to change the culture and attempted to help Cuse reach out to the city kids and seek out some of the under the radar talent from the Northeast(and elsewhere). The modern day SU Orange football program, will have to build its program the way some of the BCS buster mid major programs began to. Solid recruiting of hidden gems and overlooked players combined with great coaching that accentuates the strengths of its players while assisting said players in their progression.
I root for SJU in college hoops(yes sacrilege!!) and they are pretty much in a similar position in that they were once a proud and successful program they went into a decline. They couldn’t draw top talent(despite having a deeper pool in its backyard than SU football has in its backyard). Had a coach like Norm Roberts(inheriting a bad bad situation) who had to basically work with blue collar, lower tier division 1 prospects and coach them up as best as he could. Johnnies fans rumbled and grumbled but eventually say some slow progression. Norm Roberts was let go but, when SJU replaced him, they went after someone who they felt could upgrade the caliber of recruits and thus far Steve Lavin has been able to recruit better prospects but this thing is still a work in progress. For the Orange to do what Terry expects, they’d have to somehow miraculously hired a high profile head coach, tremendously upgrade its facilities, or relocate the school to the Southeast or something. Now the last suggestion was ofcourse a joke, but the point should be clear. In today’s football climate, SU as currently constituted will not be locking down 5 star recruits…even from its homestate. So the goal should be steadily improving the program through winning ball games. Then after a while, SU will be back to a nationally respected level where not only local top prospects want to come, big names from Florida, or Texas or California or the midwest want to play football in CNY. Mind you, it will probably never become Alabama in that regard, but it could definitely become more attractive to higher caliber recruits. Continued success will forge the way.
As for Hunt, why not reach out to a Donovan McNab?? Because of all these NCAA rules, I’m not sure about whether or not its a violation. But, I wouldn’t mind seeing D McNabb coming up to SU during the spring and working with all the SU qbs..but especially Hunt. If AJ and Alin are early enrollees, then they could benefit as well. Marvin Harrison’s public status has taken a beating, but maybe he can come up as well. Heck, I wouldn’t mind seeing more former SU stars coming back and working with current players.
I love Rob Moore, but adding Qadry and Marvin to spring camp couldn’t hurt. I see hidden potential in Ashton Broyld if he gets his head straight and Hunt is able to mature. Quinta could finally hit his potential.

After reading your comments yesterday about Schiano possibly going to Penn St. I was going to ask where were you getting that information from? I just finished reading that O Brian is leaving Penn St. for the Houstin Texans,which just shows (for me anyways)just how much the members of this website are on the “CUTTING EDGE” when it comes to sharing their knowledge on college football. Truly amazing!!!!
Some questions arise about his leaving for Houstin. Do you guys actually believe that Penn St. will take a chance on Greg Schiano? What about the recruits,do you think any will de-commit and go else where? I read that Thomas Holley out of NYC isn’t to happy about the current state of affairs at Penn St. What about Jason Cabinda? Is there a chance that he de-commits from Penn St and changes his mind again and decides to come back to Syracuse when all is said and done?
The way I see it is the doors are starting to open wide for Syracuse University to regain some ground with recruiting in the northeast. I believe that some of these recruits(Thomas Holley and Jason Cabinda)decommit from Penn St. and chose Syracuse as the place to be.

I think Cabinda comes back to the Cuse and Holley goes for another high profile choice. I’m hoping we land both. Holley would have a chance at immediate PT if thats what he seeks. Cabinda could probably land a ton of PT as well.
