The Crusaders traded blow for blow against the visiting Friars, showcasing deep offensive resilience throughout every quarter. Despite a furious fourth-quarter surge that brought the host squad within striking distance, the comeback fell just six points shy as the final whistle sealed a 48-42 outcome in favor of the visitors.
THE RUN DOWN
First Quarter: St. Anthony’s set an aggressive tempo early as quarterback Anthony Diieso started off on fire, leading two quick scoring drives through the air to establish a 14-point opening period. The Friars erupted for 21 points in the frame to snatch back the lead, capped off by Xavier Bala putting the game away with a dramatic 77-yard touchdown run. The host squad continued to fight back with two touchdown drives of their own before ultimately running out of time on the final push.
