New Jersey running back Dontae Strickland dominated again this week for South Brunswick (NJ). The 6’0 180 pound back finished Friday night’s game against JP Stevens (NJ) with 246 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Strickland’s breakaway speed was on full display in this game. His three rushing touchdowns came on carries of 48, 54 and 72 yards. Strickland also caught a 38-yard touchdown pass in the game.
In the only contest in which Syracuse commits/targets went head to head, commit Brandon Ginnetti’s Hamden Hall (CT) fell to 2016 target Koby Quansah’s Kingswood Oxford (CT) 42-14. Quansah, who is being recruited to play linebacker for SU, scored two offensive touchdowns and returned a fumble for a 52-yard score in the game. Friday night Ginnetti tweeted, “Keep your heads up boys we fought hard. I’ll be back before you know it,” which suggests the defensive end picked up an injury.
Shy Cullen rushed for 83 yards on 24 carries in Lowell’s (MA) 14-10 victory over Leominster (MA). Cullen is coming to Syracuse to play linebacker but continues to put up solid rushing numbers. Post-game Cullen talked to the Sentinal Enterprise about how happy he was with his team’s win on the road.
SU’s only 2015 receiver, West Lindor, caught a 59-yard touchdown pass as his Affton (MO) team defeated Perryville (MO) 49-16. Lindor’s squad is ranked 8th in Missouri’s Class 4 high school division according to the Springfield News-Leader.
