While the NFL Draft Combine often draws most of the headlines, the NBA Draft Combine will be televised Thursday on ESPNU and ESPN2.  Fans will have a chance to look at their favorite college players and prospects work out before the Draft.

Syracuse’s Tyler Ennis, Jerami Grant, and CJ Fair will represent the Orange in the Combine.  The Orange trio will be showcasing their skills and measurements in an attempt to impress NBA teams ahead of the draft, which begins on June 26.

Players will be divided into groups by position and will have all of their physical attributes measured.  Grant is currently listed at 6’8” and 210 pounds.  His athletic form and nearly 7’3” wingspan will make him very attractive to teams.  He is projected as a first-round pick but could squeak into the lottery picks with this loaded draft.  Ennis is currently listed at 6’2” and 180 pounds.  His ability to stay calm under pressure and his ball smarts make him appealing for NBA teams.  He, too, is projected as a first round pick.  Fair is listed at 6’8” and 216 pounds.  NBA teams who want a dependable mid-range shooter will look into the recent Syracuse graduate.  However, his draft status is much more unclear.  He will probably be taken in the second round of the draft.

After being measured, the attendees will showcase their basketball skills in drills like fast breaks, shooting drills, and scrimmages.  They will then participate in traditional strength and agility drills.  Players will bench press as many 185-pound reps as they can.  Cody Zeller led the 2013 draft class with 17 reps. Then, they will participate in a vertical jump measurement.  Shane Larkin’s 44-inch vertical led last year’s draft class.  Comparable to the 40-yard-dash trial in the NFL Combine, players will do a 75-foot sprint, roughly ¾ the length of an NBA court.  Shane Larkin also led the draft class in this category.  Finally, players will participate in an agility drill to show their lateral movement skills.

The combine will be televised on ESPNU from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on ESPN2 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on bothThursday and Friday.

Here is a current list of the participants, keeping in mind that many can pull out before Thursday.  Projected top picks Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid have already removed themselves, and Mitch McGary and Adreian Payne will not participate for medical reasons.
