Syracuse has played close games in each of its last three contests.
Still, the Orange found a way to finish off Miami 64-52 in Coral Gables on Saturday afternoon. Like Syracuse has against Boston College and Pittsburgh, both of those teams kept a close game until the final minutes when Syracuse found a way to pull away. The same thing happened against the Hurricanes in the final regular-season contest between the two squads.
Jerami Grant continues to step in during the absence of DaJuan Coleman. He’s done his part on the court, scoring and grabbing rebounds. The sophomore forward finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds and a dunk that is likely to find its way onto the SportsCenter Top 10 on Saturday night.
He’s a tough, physical player who can provide solid services on both sides of the ball. He was 3-of-8 from the field, but 8-of-12 at the free-throw line. That’s one big way Syracuse got its buckets: 17 of its 64 points came from 20 Miami personal fouls.
The Orange continues to finish. In late games, with a two-point lead, or even more, teams are forced to foul. That puts the Orange at the free-throw line and makes for easier scoring chances. Syracuse was solid at the charity stripe on Saturday, with Tyler Ennis, Trevor Cooney, C.J. Fair and Grant combining to go 17-of-23 from the line.
It doesn’t get easier from here. A week of practice to tighten up the defense is important because Duke visits the Carrier Dome on February 1 for a highly anticipated matchup of ACC legendary programs.

I’d like to change the subject by congratulating the Womens Ice Hockey Team on their sweep of Penn St. On Friday they won in overtime 3-2 and on Saturday they beat them again 3-0 improving their record to(14-9-2 6-4-2 CHA)for the season.
Great job ladies, keep up the great play,it’s impressive.
Sorry guys, but I feel they deserve some recognition for their efforts representing Syracuse University.
@Austin;
I thought the game was tighter than what the score indicated. Syracuse had to work hard to win this game. This game was no cake walk for the Cuse. Syracuse will have another hard game on Wednesday as they travel to and play undefeated(at home) against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
It’s only going to get harder for the rest of the season for the Cuse. Not going to be easy.
Any time the CUSE beats PSABUSERU in any sport men’s or women’s its a feather in the old CUSE’s cap!! Way to go girl!!!
DO NOT FORGET THE KIDS OF PSABUSERU!! The NCAA did!!
Yeah another solid win for for ‘Cuse in conference. My only concern that better teams need to sustain leads an not let teams back in that tey far more superior then. ‘Cuse should have won that game by 20+ and without any issues.
I feel they will take care of Wake on the road Wednesday leading up to the showdown against Duke. However, even though I feel ‘Cuse will win they can’t look past Wake.
Still would like to see Roberson and MG get more minutes
It’s sad to see how far the quality of product on this website has dropped in the last two years. Did you even watch the game? How the heck could “cruises” be part of the headline? Miami had a lead with 7 minutes left in the game. It’s embarrassing to see where this site was, and where it is now. Pick it up.
You need to take part in a contest for one of the greatest sites on the net.
I am going to highly recommend this blog!

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it
can survive a forty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views.
I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
