One of the most coveted wide receivers in the country, 2014’s KJ Williams, wants to make a huge stamp on Syracuse football. The Bethlehem, PA native and Liberty High School senior¬†committed to the Orange a few weeks ago. KJ gave a ‚Äúsoft verbal‚Äù but feels very confident and certain about his decision. The Fizz caught up with Williams and he‚Äôs thrilled to be mentioned in the same breath as some former Orange standout playmakers:
“It feels great. Some great receivers played at Syracuse. Marvin Harrison, Coach [Rob] Moore. That’s a great opportunity for me and to be up there with those guys feels really good.”
KJ told The Fizz wide receivers coach Rob Moore wanted to coach him for awhile. Moore, as well as Scott Shafer and George McDonald, recruited Williams together after he was convinced by AJ Long to look at SU.
As Williams’ cousin, Long told us he and KJ have the talent and chemistry to become the best QB-WR connection in all of college football. Williams loves his cousin’s spark, and is right on board with his prediction:
“AJ definitely is a talker. Me and him have a great connection out there on the field. I don’t even have to run the right route and I know he’s going to get me the ball. That should be a great thing to watch.”
Williams says Syracuse fans are awesome and in his mind separated themselves from the rest of the country. Hopefully a year from now he’s reeling in touchdowns on the Carrier Dome turf in the Loud House.

I really wanted KJ to come to RU. That kid has amazing talent and will be a problem for ACC DBacks. I love two players on your squad. Ashton Broyld and Spruill. Ashton should play QB in that offense.

There’s been a lot of mention about the all WHITE IPF that syracuse wants to build. Have you all noticed the color of the building that KJ williams is standing in?

@Ron I don’t understand the complaints at all. SU is asking for a dirt cheap facility and they are getting a recruit winning design. As to the all white interiors, that is pretty typical. Helps reduce lighting costs, and helps players pick up the ball easier. The Dome ceiling is white too. On the outside, I think it will look spectacular in all seasons. It will look very techy and futuristic, like a laboratory for football research, with the mad scientists Shafer and McDonald looking to build them bigger, stronger, faster. All this overseen by the mastermind Dr. Gross. It’s a fun and compelling story. Against the white, the Orange will really pop and if the building is built as designed, I can’t tell you how excited I am to see it glow at night. I say again, it will glow at night. It is the fortress of solitude!

You know the old saying “it’s hard to please everyone”. I believe no matter the issues people just like to bitch and complain.
Practice is closed to the public up until Fan Fest on Friday. I’m going to have to stand across the street with my binoculars and watch them practice.
I’m really getting excited rthough and can’t wait for the season to start.
It’s going to be interesting to see how they incorporate George Morris,Ashton Broyld into the offense and really looking forwards to seeing Ron Thompson at DE this fall.
I hope he eventually signs with the Cuse. I can picture him being a real legit target and in a few years a good NFL prospect. At qb we have to hope that someone emerges as a true and unquestioned Leader/Starter. At one pt, I hoped a guy like Ashton Broyld would have caught up enough to make a run at the qb spot, but lets see if Terrel Hunt(think he has 3 seasons of eligibility left) can grab the bull by the horns. Because in the periphery, you got 2 freshmen and 1 recruit that would love to spearhead the offense.
