Gigantic offensive lineman Michael Lasker announced via Instagram (@BigLask76) that he committed to Syracuse for the incoming season yesterday during his official visit to the Hill.

He’s played at Riverside City College in California and also had interest from San Diego State.
The 6-foot-5, 315 pound lineman would make the 23rd member of the Orange‚Äôs Class of 2013. Lasker’s size and wingspan are impressive. His sheer bulk helps him swallow smaller defensive ends, while his long arms can make it difficult to maneuver around him. He also has the footwork and athleticism to pull for a tackle.
Lasker played right guard at Santiago High in Corona, California. Riverside City College has turned out plenty of FBS talent. In February 10 players signed with schools, including Boise State, Hawaii, Washington State and tight end Gus Penning to Baylor. Penning was considered a top 30 JuCo player in the country.
Riverside went 9-2 last year, and defeated LA Harbor in the Golden State Bowl. That name should ring a bell for SU fans. Three players from LA Harbor visited the Hill last fall. Syracuse also brought in JuCo DE Tyler Marona, and is heavily recruiting Oklahoma QB Drew Allen to join the mix this fall.
The Orange is in need of instant help on the line after the graduation of all-everything Justin Pugh. Sean Hickey is expected to continue starting at right tackle. Andrew Phillips, Pugh‚Äôs backup, decided against returning to SU. He’s no longer playing football.

A good weekend for Orange fans a lacrosse win and two new football players that can contribute immediately.Both on offenselasmer on the line and Drew taking the snaps MAYBE. He still has to beat to Charlie for that honor and I think Charlie has a big lead at this point in the play book and knowing the receivers. Its not a little advantage,its huge.

I have never heard of this many players coming aboard after signing today. I think the staffs knows what they are doing but this is the reason that we wanted Shaffer to pick faster. In the end, I think this staff has what it takes but its clear McDonald will soon jump ships he is on the up and up. I like the players we are bringing in and have complete confidence that our recruiting class will be 4x better next year
Chris – Honestly, Allen has to beat Hunt. These past two open practices were eye opening. Hunt has it all over Loeb, and looks like he might even beat out Allen. Hunt is taking a majority of the 1st team snaps right now. He has it all. A better arm than Loeb and serious escapability. He took a designed run the distance in practice today too.
I like Hunt as the Qb, he’s tough. He played safety in hs and he’s not afraid of contact. I hope he can win the job.
I agree with Derek. Hunt is a better player than Loeb is right now and has a better command of the offense and Huddle.
The defense looks just nasty right now.
I’ve read an article saying that Syracuse has offered a 4* WR a scholarship. I went to cusenation.com and looked at the 4*WR’s that were listed. The one name that jumps off the page to me is KJ Williams.
Could it be possible gentlemen that we land him for the class of 2014? We have to remember that he did say if Syracuse were to offer that he would accept..
This coaching staff is definately looking at prospects that I honestly believe are far and away better than anything Coach Marrone ever looked at this early in the year. I know all of this early activity has peeked my interest and am really excited for the football season(games)to start.
I’m going to the Spring Scrimmage Game on Saturday and I hope they have a lot more people there this year than last year watching.

Ron,KJ Williams is an old story I posted about 2 weeks ago when his cousin AJ Long said would follow him where ever he commited!B4 that KJ Wms was looking at Mich and RU at the top of his list of 23 offers at that point….AJ commited…whats K.J. waiting for?Maybe to come up in person for the spring game?Last week he visited Mich and said “tweeted” he loved it and they were on top of his list but if blood is thicker than water keep ur fingers crossed!!
