Great game!! The zone completely stomped the Hoosiers!! They were in LALA-land from the start of the game. But and a big but here is SU will not match up well with Marquette. They know JB and his tendencies!! Also if you stayed up and this morning and listened to ESPNU they weren’t all that excited about this win for SU. Dickie V(really not a SU fan) mostly talked about how Indiana stunk and not how well SU played. Over-whelming amount of the announcers also mention Marquette and their team play. Yet no real/super hype for SU!! I just hope JB(if that’s his style) plays the downplaying of SU in this tournament by the so called experts as an incentive!!!! I picked SU losing to Miami in my bracket! Not to bad but the or sides of the bracket are not bad either. All depends tonight if the drinks are on me!!
I sort of disagree about the Marquette match up. This IS the elite 8 now, so you have to play a good team AND play well to advance.

Terry, I’m amazed after reading your post to say again that I have to agree. Over the last week all I heard from the so-called pundits was how good everyone else was except Syracuse. The message to me was that they all felt Syracuse wasn’t good enough and didn’t belong in the Sweet 16.
Well after tomorrows game against Marquette, Syracuse will head to Atlanta for a Final Four weekend. I see Kansas losing in tonight’s game against Michigan and feel Michigan is the team that Syracuse will play and beat to get to the National Championship game against Louisville.
The team played great defense lastnight and I feel our maligned BIGS stepped up to the plate and delivered a knockout punch to Cody Zeller that helped Syracuse win the game.

Last time we played Marquette we lost by 3 points. It’s hard to beat a team(any team) that has 8 players on the court.
They went to the foul line and scored 29 of 40 free throws and only won by 3.
This game will be different,they won’t go to the free throw line as much,Syracuse’s zone is going to very active and will shut down the perimeter shooters again like they did against Indiana. So much on the line here,if Syracuse does win the game tomorrow,they will get another shot at Louisville in the championship game.

I just feel that if you didn’t play against SU’s zone its an advantage for SU. Marquette has played SU a # of times that can’t help at all. SU’s “D” is awesome lately but their “O” is very limited. 61 points won the game yesterday. I think it will take more than 61 to beat Marquette!! Marquette has a chip on their shoulder.
