Take out your flashlights Fizz Fam. It’s the first installment of Fizz Spotlight, and this week the light shines bright on LB Cameron Lynch. Each week we will highlight an important member of the Orange during the week talking everything SU football.
The defense had a huge day last week in the win over UConn, and Lynch recovered a fumble in the blowout. We talked to the sophomore about containing USF QB BJ Daniels, the defense’s recent success, and a possible nickname for this stout front seven? It’s time for Fizz Spotlight.
On winning the turnover margin:
“It’s real crucial. Coach Shafer said the ball is going to be out, [Daniel’s] is going to be running and scrambling a lot. If we’re 3 plus in the turnover margin, there is a guarantee that we’ll win the game. The more turnovers we get the better opportunity the offense gets to score.”
On not getting too high after wins or getting too low after losses:
“We got to stay steady. The win is in the past; we got to focus on what’s coming up. It’s going to be a whole different team coming up that we’re playing, a lot more speed, so its not going to be the same team, so we got to stay steady and focus on what’s coming up next.”

Love this kid…lived in Atlanta when he was in high school and was psyched when SU landed him. Turned out to be great player and my friends in Atlanta, that knew him, said he was a great kid. Go Cam!

He’s a true baller. Fast and hard-hitting. Really good kid to talk to as well. Genuine personality.
Haha, Russ, Cam owes me a nickname. Was actually talking to Zian Jones as well about a nickname for the D-Line/Front 7. If they rattle BJ this weekend they’ll have one in store.
Guys…we have to think of one. Billy Fuccillo and the Orange O-Line had the “HUGE” nickname. Now we need one for these guys. Possible Nicknames for this ruthless front seven??

@Kevin Fitzgerald;I remember in the 1980’s the OL was know as the “4 Wheel Drive”. The front seven of Syracuse is only going to get stronger in another year with the addition of John Raymon and others.
With Syracuse’s improvement in stopping the run what about the front seven known as the “Orange Pit Crew”?
Just a thought, will try to think of something more catchy.

@EC,Im not sure but don’t the O-line lead the “drives”?It don’t make sense for the D-line that stops drives!?!More like a “wall”!!Ron,Id bet ur right!

Hey Fizz;how about you making a tee-shirt with the defensive unit(Front Seven)carrying a sports utility fan with the “Crew” written below the image? Or better yet!Why not have them carrying different parts of a SUV after it’s been in a wreck?
That would be pretty powerful guys. I buy one maybe two if they really looked good.
How about winning a few games before we start worrying about nicknames? Just sayin’.

In my opinion the Syracuse Defensive unit has looked good(real good) and has improved every game.
I don’t understand the skepticism,let’s stay positive and have some fun and be ready when the time comes to give this unit it’s proper due. This unit is good man let’s enjoy watching it perform becaues before you know it they will be gone.
