Two different reports surfaced yesterday concerning the commitment of Syracuse recruit Kevin McReynolds, one that he has made a decision, the other that he has not. According to Scarlet Nation, the four-star defensive tackle has made up his mind but not alerted the schools. MaxPreps, however, says all four of the finalists are still in the running. We do know the enigma that is K-Mac will make his decision public by Wednesday’s National Signing Day.
The latter report would simply reinforce what has become the company line for McReynolds: Syracuse, UCLA, Kansas State and Mississippi State all still have a chance. However, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if K-Mac has made his decision and simply doesn’t want to tip his hand. The Fizz believes he is leaning toward the Bulldogs.

Four-star defensive tackle¬†Kevin McReynolds has reached a decision on where he’ll play his college football. Of course, there’s a catch, though. With Wednesday’s National Signing Day peaking over the horizon, just which school the touted lineman has chosen has become a bit of a family secret.”
Even if McReynolds decides on playing in the nation’s best conference or in the SoCal sunshine, once again Doug Marrone has clearly made strides for Syracuse recruiting. He is battling to the end on elite prospects like McReynolds, who says he’s made a personal connection with all the schools.
“I don’t like letting people down. I have strong relationships with all four coaches. We’ve talked for almost two years. That’s the tough part of it. But ultimately I need to evaluate what’s best for me.”
McReynolds plans on calling all four coaches tomorrow night to alert them of his decision. So expect the destination of the nation’s #5 defensive tackle to leak around then. If the Orange can steal him away, it will be the recruiting coup of Marrone’s tenure thus far.

I would love to see K-Mac wearing a ‘Cuse hat on National signing day, but i def have a feeling it won’t be us. But your right, the fact that Marrone is starting to get 4-5 star recruits to look at ‘Cuse is just great news. I would say this time next year we should have 2 or more Blue Chip’s signing the Orange line.
I think he is heading here. With the mentioning of how he enjoys the recruiting attentions, I think he will love even more having the label of being the big name of a recruiting class. And if he turns out to be as good and strong as advertised, he must believe he will have a great chance to start here at SU next season!
it has been said that his decision ended up coming down to academics…if that truly is the case then it will be Cuse or UCLA. With the problems UCLA has been having and the possible coaching changes I really want to lean towards Cuse on this one.
Hope it’s Cuse, but 99.9% chance he ends up at Mississippi State.
