Listen to Adonis-Ameen Moore’s decision to play for Syracuse:
Adonis Ameen-Moore is going to be an Orange and The Fizz’s Ted Conroy has been deeply entrenched in his recruitment over the entire process. Upon the dismissal of Averin Collier, Conroy was the first to break the story that the Denver star was excited about the new opening in the SU backfield. Conroy has spoken to Ameen-Moore a number of times throughout his recruitment and finally late Monday the running back made it official. Conroy caught up with him immediately following his decision to play for Doug Marrone. Here’s Ted’s post:

Adonis Ameen-Moore is headed to SU. The big, bruising tailback has been on the varsity field since his sophomore year of high school, so he has no plans to sit back and soak in his freshman season in the Salt City.
“I’ve been playing football since I was six years old, so of course I’m gonna try to go in there, and try to throw my tail in, and try to get in there and be able to start. I really just want to play, I don’t care if I start or not, I just want to play.”
The Mullen Prep star from Denver, CO ended his recruitment when he called SU assistant coach Tyrone Wheatley on Monday and committed. He chose the ‘Cuse over offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Northwestern, and Utah. It was his last visit was with the Utes which he says sealed the deal for his college decision.
“When I was driving back from Utah, the trip to Utah made it official to me.”
Ameen-Moore made it clear that he favored the ‘Cuse more for it’s coaching staff than anything wrong with the other schools.
“Coach Marrone, Coach Hackett, and Coach Wheatley. They showed me a lot of love.”
As they needed to. The Post-Standard reported that all three have been in Denver during the past week to try and convince the star running back.
Ameen-Moore is expected to give a big boost to a running back corps that has lost depth. With longtime back Delone Carter graduating, and the dismissal of Averin Collier, there is a hole to be filled for an every down, big-set back.
Could he help the program out and grind out a few carries in the Pinstripe Bowl? I just had to ask.
“If it were possible, I’d definitely come out there right now and suit up, but I don’t think the NCAA would let me do that.”
No, no they wouldn’t. But we appreciate the enthusiasm, Adonis. Here’s welcoming another high-profile recruit to the Orange family. With¬†Ishaq Williams down to three schools, the stage is set for a recruiting coup.
