Looks like we know what Orange Nation would rather do than watch Syracuse lose another Big East game.
Anything.
A mini-Snickers bar-sized Halloween crowd of 33,000 showed up to watch this afternoon’s tricking and treating,¬†the 28-7 loss to Cincinnati.
Just imagine what the Dome would’ve looked like tomorrow, when everyone is hung over and sick from bobbing for apples in Long Island Iced Tea and throwing down enough Kit Kat bars to fill up an overweight Derrick Coleman.
Despite the two stomach-punch turnovers in the red zone (Paulus’ interception and Delone Carter’s fumble) this team still¬†feels different from the Groobers teams.
Call it naivete (or just a haunting disgust with the last SU head coach), but despite the fifth loss of the season this ‘Cuse team appears better coached, better motivated, better prepared.
The Bearcats are a Top-10 team in the country (that just seems odd to write first-person). Marrone’s Marauders gave up a fluky touchdown on the botched FG attempt and turned the ball over twice in would-be scoring spots.
The Orange actually were not far off from making this a game for sixty minutes.
Of course, the weekly goal of just making it a game sounds pretty pathetic. Alas, ’tis the state of the Orange these days. Isn’t it Louisville week yet?

Paula, I was totally thknniig of Diane Arbus when I did this painting! I was just finishing up her bio, came across this photo in my stash and tweaked it a bit. Love having an eerie feel, not something I manage very often. Thanks Karen, well, we just muddle through, some days are way better than others:)Gary, raining all day, but I suspect it will turn to ice tonight, precisely when I have to go pick up my kids:)
Super excited to see more of this kind of stuff online.
A rolling stone is worth two in the bush, thanks to this article.
I’m not easily impressed. . . but that’s impressing me! 🙂
