There are currently 15 players who have verbally committed to Syracuse for 2016, leaving a maximum of five scholarships still available. A player who may snag one of these few remaining scholarships is Donald Stewart, a wide receiver out of Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey.
Stewart, a three-star recruit has already scheduled visits to several schools, including Michigan and Stanford and now reportedly wants to visit the Hill. He is also looking at Boston College and Rutgers.
New Jersey has proven to be a very important recruiting ground for the Orange in the past and three of the fifteen members of the Class of 2016 are from the Garden State. Therefore, it is no surprise that one of the handful of players who Syracuse appears to be targeting is from Jersey.
His residence aside, Stewart is someone to keep an eye on because of his position. As of now, the Orange only have one wide-out committed for 2016, Sadiq Palmer, who, incidentally, also calls New Jersey home.
Syracuse fans don’t need reminding about how much the offense struggled in 2014. If Orange fans are completely honest with themselves, there really isn’t much reason for optimism in 2015. The following year, 2016, may just be a different story. The potential impact of Robert Washington has been beaten to death, but with him, the Orange have a chance to build a more potent offense for the future.
With so¬†few scholarships remaining, the Orange should focus on the offensive skill positions, namely wide receiver, to help improve their offense. Here lies the perfect opportunity to do just that. The Orange have already turned down one WR, KJ Gray telling him that they weren’t looking to add any more players are the position.
This doesn’t quite add up as the Orange have struggled to find consistent receivers who can help out the quarterback, whoever it may be following Terrell Hunt’s senior season. Shafer and Co. need to reconsider and think about adding another receiver to the class of 2016, and the opportunity has presented itself in the form of Donald Stewart.

I agree whole heartily ORANGEINVA with your assessment on the upcoming season. I know that my predictions are pretty high every year but I see the Orangemen going 8-4 in 2015.
I had a chance to meet and chat with the new AD at Fan Fest on Saturday and came away with the feeling that things are taking a very different course of action as to how the program should be run. Looking for good things to happen.
